idea: Pass the ball
We are currently using Project Path for most communication with clients. Sometimes client posts a question requiring my response but I lose track of that question and it remains unanswered. Until it is 24 hours to launch and we realize we missed something because of that unanswered question.
It would be quite useful if each conversation had a “tennis ball” inside it.
Imagine: client is on the serve (like, he starts the tennis game) and he has the ball in his hand. He posts a question that he wants me to answer and passes the ball to me. That means I am now the one responsible for that particular question.
I log in to the system and I see there is a ball assigned to me. I open the conversation and read the question. Oh! — I realize — The guy forgot to give me the details for their FTP!
I ask for the FTP details and pass the ball back to the client.
So each time you review the messages, you see who holds the ball for every individual topic. Each time you log in, you can tell: Uh-oh, I’ve got 5 balls. I need to throw them back to that annoying guy.
And what, I hear you asking, if the conversation has no ball? It’s trash. Nobody is resonsible for it. Delete it.
