How to reset root password in Mac
Insert your Mac OS installation disk 1, open it and click Restart. Then after the system boots from CD, proceed to installation wizard and choose Utilities > Reset Password without actually installing the system. You’ll be able to set your pwd without knowing the old one.
Then quite the installer by choosing your Mac hard drive as the boot device.
You’re done!
