Google Spreadsheet: how to paste cells
Problem: today I was editing a google spreadsheet on my Mac and ran into a weird copy-paste problem. To copy some data from Excel file (actually it was an OpenOffice file) I selected multiple cells, then clicked Cmd-V and then tried to paste the data into a google spreadsheet. But it didn’t work. Each time I clicked Cmd-V, or selected the Paste command from the google docs toolbar, nothing happened and the cells were not pasted.
Solution: switch to English keyboard layout. Really, it is that easy. You just need to switch away from any non-English keyboard layout you’re using (Russian in my case).
